Somewhere near Domhan Trádálaí space, a group of rebellious Balkish pioneers have exited warp space, looking for lands to claim for themselves. Unknown to them, they'd stopped near an occupied solar system, and were most likely going to be destroyed. They towed with them an orbital platform station, which doubled as an orbital gun, a large pulse laser cannon, designed for rapidly taking out small and medium-sized vessels. I could also be used as a living area, with installed extensions, and was to be used as a living area for engineers, who'd be building structures for the pioneers.
Their first stop was at a moon; not far from a inhabited planet. They got into orbit over it, and put the OPS in orbit over the planet very carefully, before having a few transport ships sent down to the surface for exploration. Those who exited wore bulky deep-space suits, and scanned the region of the moon for a nice area to set up a base, which they found in a massive crater. They called down another group of transport vessels, these carrying the materials necessary to set up at the very least, a simple outpost. They quickly got to work, moving supplies to the ground, tools onto rovers, and robots to move both supplies and tools around at a rapid pace. The outpost would likely be finished within hours; a day, at most.
